Welcome to The Castro Files.
This week we the three stories to share with you. It only takes a quick second to search for the Slender Man on the internet and you will know exactly who we are referencing. Halloween is the perfect time to cover a couple of unsolved murder mysteries that took place on Halloween Eve.
The first is the creepy story of the Slender Man. Slender Man was one of the first horror folklore creatures created entirely on internet.
The next two stories center around Halloween. The first is a murder mystery that is still unsolved and indirectly involves the serial killer, David Berkowitz, better known as the Son of Sam. Are these murders connected to a cult or just a strange coincidence. The final story is another unsolved murder that takes place on Halloween Eve. Friends go out to a bar looking to have a good time and one of them never returns. Could this case be related to the Smiley Face killer?

Welcome to The Castro Files. This week we have stories about two types of Cryptids. The Sykesville Monster, otherwise known as the Yucca Man, Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or the Skunk Ape. And the Wendigo, a possession of sorts that drives a person to cannibalism. Thanks for tuning into the show this week.
Story 1: Stories of the Sykesville Monster originated in the 1970's in Sykesville, MD located just outside of Balitmore, MD. There were several sightings of the Sykesville Monster of a very short period of time drawing the attention of local and state authorities.
Story 2: The Yucca Man - Located near the Joshua Tree National Park, not far from Marine Corps base 29 Palms, there are stories of the Yucca Man. A blue or sometimes red eyed seven-foot-tall, hairy creature that terrorizes people throughout Southern California. Is the Yucca Man what many of us would call Big Foot, you be the judge.
Story 3: The Wendigo is terrifying. Whether it's a possession, psychosis, or a real thing, it is real and it is documented. The Wendigo causes a person to forgo eating available food and in turn crave human flesh, cannibalism. This is a story that may turn your stomach, but it's worth the listen.

Welcome to The Castro Files. This week we have three stories to share that'll make you wonder what were people thinking. Thanks for tuning into the show this week.
Story 1: The Legend of Eunice "Goody" Cole, an accused witch from Hampton, New Hampshire who was tried on multiple occasions for witchcraft in the mid-1600's. Obviously this was not a good time for women to be accused of being a witch. Interestingly enough she lived to be 90 years old.
Story 2: The Bells Witch, a story of a family in the 1800's that was tormented by something... Was it a witch? This ghost story version of the Bell Witch tale, written by Nicole Garton, was originally published in The Tennessean on Oct. 22, 2001. We present it here for anyone looking to get spooked by a local legend.
Story 3: Be careful what you wish for. If something seems to be too good to be true, maybe it is. This story should make you wonder about that really good deal you got on a new home, or an old antique piece you just couldn't let pass.

Welcome to The Castro Files. This week we have two UFO stories from New Hampshire and a Message from Beyond.
The first is The Exeter Incident took place in 1965 in Exeter, New Hampshire where 2 police officers and a recent high school graduate came face to face with a UFO. The United States Air Force may have swept this one under the rug, Research Project Blue Book. This is a well-documented case with a plenty of data to back it up.
The second UFO story is a family member. My Aunt Mary and her friends had quite the experience one night in 1982. This is a story that takes place not too far from the first incident in Hampton, New Hampshire. A truly close encounter.
Our third story has a different spin. Ever wonder if you could talk with a friend or family member once they pass? What if they reached out and sent you an email? Would you believe it? What if the friend on the other side knew things only you two talked about? Is it a blessing or a curse?

Welcome to The Castro Files. This week we share our story of visiting the haunted Stanley Hotel. The Stanely Hotel has quite the historic past, a 140-room Colonial Revival hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, United States, about five miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. It was built by Freelan Oscar Stanley of Stanley Steamer fame and opened on July 4, 1909, as a resort for upper-class Easterners and a health retreat for sufferers of pulmonary tuberculosis.
There are many ghostly sightings throughout the hotel including the ball room and the smoking lounge. We share a handful of interesting photos in this podcast that you may find interesting.
