Eastern State Penitentiary - The Castro Files 44

Opening more than 180 years ago, it was known for its strict rules, solitary confinement, and designed to inspire penitence. Bonus Episode: I sat down with Larry Sierra and Eric Wagner, a couple of guys from our BJJ gym, Submission Concepts to talk about being old and starting jiu jitsu. All of us are blue belts, so still pretty new to the game. Starting BJJ in our mid-forties has the added bonuses of aches, pains, and injuries (who cares). Being the new guy in class questioning what we've gotten ourselves into, everyone goes through this phase. Parents getting their kids into the sport and then the parents following suit. Most importantly Mack shares his inspiring story of picking yourself up and ultimately starting over. $41 and a mindset changed his trajectory in life. Mack was knocked down, but he was Never Out of the Fight. I don't think Mack knows what quit means, even in the darkness. Mack knows leather and men's hips, for belts!
